Third Grade Organization Expectations

Planner:

Students are responsible for filling in the planner daily for each of the core subjects. The planner sheet will be available for students to copy down when they arrive at school and into first period. The planners have a spot for students to write down tests and future projects. It also has a spot for spelling, vocabulary, or greek/latin roots. It is important that this is done daily. The planner will be stored in the front of the accordion folder.

The planner is a communication tool. The blue planner sheet will be signed each weekend. This is our way of communicating behavior, academic concerns, and uniform concerns. Please make sure to sign.

Accordion Folder:

Students will be using accordion folders this year instead of a binder. This folder is the only thing that should be coming home from school regularly. Journals and class folders should only be coming home if specific assignments have been assigned. The folder is broken down into the following sections and order...
  • Tab #1: Planner
  • Tab #2: Homework
  • Tab #3: Graded Papers
  • Tab #4: Communication
  • Tab #5: ELAR
  • Tab #7: Social Studies
  • Tab #9: Math
  • Tab #11: Science

Supplies:

They will need to carry their accordion folder, zipper bag, and any supplies requested by specific teachers with them as they travel during the day.
Students will need to keep up with their supplies and replace them as needed.
